“Man can live about forty days without food, about three days without water, about eight minutes without air, but only for one second without hope”. The purpose of this guide is to provide a path of hope for those who may not fully understand their condition, but can relate to, and identify with, a destructive behavior that seems unstoppable.
This guide is a collection of pages; each focused on a particular destructive behavior. With each page I list programs, groups, resources and literature that I have and continue to gather from people who despite the over-powering drive and compulsion individually found recovery, strength, and peace in their lives through one or more of these programs. I believe that every human being is on a unique journey and that there also can be different conditions behind any destructive behavior, and so I aimed to encompass as many relating options as plausible. My guide makes no promises nor does it offer a single path or remedy, I hope that by reading the summaries of each resource, you are drawn to that which will eventually lead you toward your personal journey in recovery.
I can use your help, together we really can make a difference for those still looking for answers - with a little help from friends like you, people will realize that they haven't run out of options. By creating links to pages of this guide on related sites you will extend our visibility online and bridge that gap at the right time for others.
Please don't hesitate to contact me. Whether you have suggestions on programs, have a question, an idea, or want to share your story, please do so by sending an email using the contact info at the bottom of every page.
